Procurement Specialist (Non-IT)

Position Details

We are seeking a Procurement & RFX Consultant to join our team and support a public sector client on a large-scale project. This contractor role will focus on leading and refining procurement strategies, developing RFX documents, and supporting vendor evaluation and contract finalization processes.

This is an onsite opportunity based in Edmonton, Alberta, ideal for a procurement professional with strong experience in public sector or regulated environments.

 

Scope of Responsibilities

✏️ Refine and translate business and technical requirements into clear, compliant RFX documentation.
✏️ Support procurement strategy planning aligned with project goals and timelines.
✏️ Develop RFPs, RFIs, and related solicitation documents, including selection methodologies and evaluation criteria.
✏️ Coordinate responses to vendor questions and assist in planning bidder conferences and vendor presentations.
✏️ Evaluate vendor proposals, ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with standards and selection criteria.
✏️ Prepare debriefing materials and participate in post-procurement reviews and contract finalization.
✏️ Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with procurement policy and best practices.

 

Key Qualifications

✅ Proven experience preparing RFX documents in public sector or government environments.
✅ Strong knowledge of procurement policy, solicitation development, and evaluation frameworks.
✅ Ability to assess business and technical requirements and translate them into procurement deliverables.
✅ Skilled in coordinating procurement activities and vendor communications.
✅ Strong written communication and documentation skills.
✅ Familiarity with Government of Alberta procurement policy is an asset.

🔒 Security Requirement: Background check required prior to starting
📚 Mandatory Training: FOIP and Security Awareness training will be required upon onboarding
📅 Estimated Interview Period: Week of May 5, 2025
📆 Contract Dates: May 5, 2025 – May 31, 2026

 

Working Hours

⏰ Monday through Friday, 08:15 – 16:30 (Alberta time), excluding provincial holidays.
